Maximum Overdrive Yoyo TrickIn this video, I am going to teach you how to shift into Maximum Overdrive, and it looks like this:
Maximum Overdrive starts with a Double or Nothing. After you throw the yoyo and as it is getting into Double or Nothing, you want to hold the string with your ring finger and pinky finger on your throwhand, just like how we show you in our 1.5 mount video. Once the yoyo is in the Double or Nothing, you want to swing the yoyo over top of your non throwhand pointer finger, just like this, landing into a Sub Mount. From here you want to continue swinging the yoyo toward your throwhand side, and when the strings leading to the yoyo are parallel on your throwhand side, you want to take your opposite hand thumb and hook it underneath the string leading to your throwhand pinky, just like this. So I am going to cross my arms and hook my thumb underneath. Then once I hook my thumb underneath that string, I can uncross my hands, landing the yoyo onto this string. We are going to end up into something that looks a lot like a Houdini Mount, except you will notice that the string is coming over my throwhand knuckles. From here, I can take my middle finger and stick it out. Hop the yoyo over and then go into an undermount around that middle finger, dropping the string off of your throwhand pointer finger. Then you want to take your non throwhand thumb and really pull this string back so it is going over the back of my hand, and not my middle finger like this. This opens up the string so the next part of the trick is much simpler. Then from here, you want to swing the yoyo toward your throwhand side and take your throwhand pointer finger, hook it into that string and push down so that the yoyo comes off the string. You are going to stick out your non throwhand pointer finger, swing the yoyo over top of it, and then over top of your throwhand pointer finger. Then you are going to swing the yoyo underneath, landing onto both of these strings. Then once more, dropping the string off of your non throwhand pointer finger, just like a Ripcord. You will find yourself in this mount. The next step is, you will take your non throwhand and pull it back a bit, so you can separate these strings that are going around the yoyo. Then you want to swing the yoyo toward your non throwhand side, and take your non throwhand pointer finger, and push it into this string that you just separated in the loop. The yoyo is going to go over your non throwhand pointer finger and it is going to end up in this formation. Then you are going to swing the yoyo over top of your throwhand pointer finger, push your pointer finger down into that front string and the yoyo is going to land on that front string. Then you will be in an Under or Nothing, but with the back string going across the back of both of your hands. Then from here, you can take the yoyo and roll it to the front of this front string. Then roll it over once more, landing on that front string. You want to take your throwhand pointer finger and drop the loop that is on it. Swing the yoyo over once more, and the slack is going to follow behind. Then you will see that you are in the last step of Skin the Gerbil. So you can swing the yoyo off the string, the front once, and then you are back in a regular Trapeze. You can go into an undermount and perform a bind. And that is how your shift it into Maximum Overdrive.
