Hacky-Sack In This Video:

Clipper Hacky-Sack Trick
In this video I am going to teach you how to do the Clipper, which looks like this.

The Clipper is just an Inside Kick, which you should have already learned, but it’s behind your leg, and it’s surprising how much more difficult that can be. Really there are 2 main tips outside of your regular inside kick that you need to know to be able to do this. So, make sure first of all that you are good at your Inside Kick. And the second thing, when you do this just kind of practicing your footwork is a good place to start.

You want to imagine you are tossing the hacky sack directly in front of your body, or that when you are doing a combo that it is in front of your body. If this is where the hacky sack is, I actually want to take my left-foot, or my opposite foot, the one I am not kicking with, and step past the hacky sack. I don’t want to be on this side of it, but I want to fully cross my body and point my toes the opposite direction. That way when I bring my kicking foot up you can see it is just like I have turned for my Inside Kick. I cross over and turn and I can get my foot nice and level.

The other difficult part about this when you first start is you will probably make contact, but when you go to kick you will hit it but the hacky sack will fly all over in crazy directions. Usually that is because the hacky sack is too far away from your body. This is an unusual kick because your opposite leg is involved. If you imagine when you do the Inside Kick the hacky sack is only about a foot away from your body. When you do your Clipper it is not going to be any different, but it is going to feel extra close because your leg is in the way. If I put my leg out, you will see how close it is to my leg. That is how it has to be. When I drop it you will see it meets my foot right there, just barely away from my leg. That is completely normal. If you try to aim with it way out, you are not going to be able to keep your foot level, it is going to feel uncomfortable and it is going to fly in every direction. So you really want to keep the hacky sack close to your body and turn your body as much as possible. If you do all that you should be able to do it.

That is how you do the Clipper, and of course you want to make sure you practice on both sides. That’s the Clipper.

There are no hacky-sack tricks you need to know before learning this trick with your hacky-sack.
