Learn how to do the Open String Bind offstring (4a) yoyo trick.

Open String Bind Yoyo Trick
This is the Open String Bind, and it looks like this. As you can see, all I am doing is I am popping the yoyo up into the air, and I am swinging the string into the groove of the yoyo, causing it to bind. To achieve this, you are going to want to swing the string around in a pretty full motion. The more of a motion that you give with your arm, the more control over the string you have. Also, you are going to want to swing your hand close to the yoyo, and then aim your fingers at the groove of the yoyo to ensure that you are more accurate in getting the string into the groove. Don’t think about the string, so much, think about getting your hand close to the yoyo, and getting your fingers lined up with the groove of the yoyo. That way the string will end up in the gap.

Once the yoyo touches the string, you are going to want to quickly move your hand up and then back down towards the yoyo causing it to bind. It is that motion in which you bring your hand up and then back down towards the yoyo that makes the trick work.

The reason this work is, if you were to hold the yoyo in your hand and then swing the string into the groove of the yoyo, and then pull it at just the right moment, you will see the string wind up into the yoyo as if it were binding. The act of bringing your hand back towards the yoyo is what causes the bind to take.

In summary, you are going to want to swing in a full motion, you are going to want to get your hand close and pointed at the groove of the yoyo and then you are going to want to do the jerk up and then bringing your hand back down toward the yoyo. That is the Open String Bind.
