The Forge Yoyo is a collaboration between the premium yoyo company Sengoku, YoYoTricks.com, and Jake Elliott. Designed to be a competitive level 1a yoyo, the Forge is made out of 7068 aluminum to provide the best play possible.
7068 aluminum is an amazing material that allows the walls of the yoyo to be as thin as they could be with much more expensive materials such as titanium. This means that the Forge can achieve a very low weight of only 64.5 gram, while still having a tremendous amount of rim weight. These two design attributes come together to make a very fast playing, and very long spinning yoyo that is optimized for competitive play.
The Forge Yoyo also offers a finger spin area in the middle of the inner cup. This finger spin area is designed to allow for long perfectly horizontal finger spins, while also allowing slightly tilted finger spins to work, which are often easier to perform for finger spin bind tricks.
Every cut of the Forge Yoyo yoyo was designed with competitive yoyo play in mind. The Forge Yoyo’s width is all catch zone, making string hits easier to perform. It’s gap width was made very slightly narrower than most yoyos, allowing for easier and more consistent binds. The Forge Yoyo is very long spinning, and resists tilt during horizontal and vertical play.
We had an amazing time designing the Forge Yoyo is Sengoku, and we can’t wait to hear what you guys have to say about it.
