Umbrella Yoyo TrickThis trick is called the Umbrella. Here’s what it looks like.

This trick is fairly simple, all you have to do is practice the rhythm and movement to really get it down. One thing that helps, is you can actually practice the movement while the yoyo is not spinning.

You want to start with a Breakaway. From here you want to bring your left hand in, holding up the yoyo. Then, just swing it across your body, kind of like this. From there, as the yoyo is coming towards you, you are going to want to pull down on the counterweight launching it across your body. What that does is create the momentum that you need for the trick.

From there, as you are launching it release the counterweight and it will slide over into your left hand. If you notice we are in the same position that we started. You actually just repeat the same steps over and over. Here is what that looks like.

It is just moving up and down with my hands like that, keeping that rhythm. Keep that nice consistent movement from side to side.

You will notice that, when you do the trick fast enough, it kind of resembles an umbrella. Although this umbrella won’t protect you from rain, it’s very stylish.
