The Duncan Origami Yoyo was designed to be Duncan’s premier budget metal 5a yoyo. With the help of some of the best 5a players in the world, Duncan has created a stellar competition level budget metal yoyo that excels in all aspects of 5a. The genius of the Origami Yoyo starts with its shape. With a lower angle coming right off of the response pad area, followed by a sharper angle that leads to the Origami Yoyo’s rounded rims, weight is focused in two locations: The rim, and the just to the outside of the response pad area, with a large cut in the inner cup to separate the two. This shape not only defines how the Origami Yoyo plays; It is also remarkably comfortable to hold and catch when using the proper 5a catch and throw technique. The Origami Yoyo’s inner weight allows it to move with minimal lateral (front to back) motion, allowing for a outstanding level of control. This is especially noticeable with large, flashy 5a body tricks. When combined with the Origami Yoyo’s very solid feeling during play, difficult to hit tricks like behind the back or out-of-vision catches feel more controlled and easier to hit. The rim weighting on the Origami Yoyo adds to its level of control and solid feeling. Many 5a tricks require that the string enters the gap of the yoyo at an odd angle, which makes a 5a yoyos ability to resist tilt critical for when performing difficult tricks. The Origami has amazing spin times and resists tilt superbly, allowing for longer combos with more difficult elements. The rims on the Origami Yoyo are also very rounded with no sharp angles, allowing for a comfortable catch every time. We feel that Duncan has hit it out of the park with the Origami Yoyo. Duncan was able to perfectly capture what 5a players need for both high level play and for learning 5a tricks. The Origami Yoyo has already entered our list of our favorite 5a yoyos, and we can’t wait to see what new tricks our customers will come up with using it. Every Origami comes with a clear Duncan Dice in the package.YoYoTricks.com Origami Yoyo Review
Manufacturer's Description of The Origami Yoyo
Multi-National Champion, Bryan Jardin and Duncan have developed this new yo-yo from the ground up over the course of the last year. We underwent multiple iterations to up the play factor. We tweaked the weight distribution to give a quickness to the yo-yo even while it powers through its strong, powerful spins. We tweaked the gap width by thousands of an inch to insure strong, tight binds and powerful regens. The ultimate result combines precise cuts and perfect weight distribution, giving a powerful representation of the future of the Duncan line.
